The Vermont Jazz Center is excited to announce our Summer Jazz Vocal Intensive with Charenee Wade, taking place from Thursday evening, July 23rd, through Sunday afternoon, July 26th.

Designed and led by internationally acclaimed vocalist and educator Charenee Wade, this immersive program offers vocalists a supportive and inspiring environment to deepen their artistry, musicianship, and confidence as performers.

This intensive is intended for singers looking to strengthen their vocal technique, musical understanding, and improvisational skills through active, hands-on learning rooted in Charenee’s extensive teaching and professional experience.

Program Features

  • Pre-program Zoom meeting with preparation guidance and listening playlist
  • Kickoff concert feat. Charenee Wade followed by Q&A
  • Ear training
  • Theory and musicianship classes
  • Vocal coaching sessions with house rhythm section
  • Final participant presentation with accompaniment

About Charenee Wade

Charenee Wade is an award-winning singer, arranger, educator, and composer from New York City. She has performed at renowned venues including Jazz at Lincoln Center, The Apollo, and The Jazz Standard, and has appeared at major festivals around the world, including Montreux, Copenhagen Jazz Festival, Istanbul Jazz Festival, Savannah Music Festival, and the Charlie Parker Jazz Festival.

A highly respected educator, Charenee currently teaches at the Aaron Copland School of Music, the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University, and The Juilliard School. Known for her creativity, warmth, and extraordinary vocal artistry, she has inspired students and audiences across the globe.

Whether you are an emerging vocalist or an experienced singer looking to grow, this program offers an engaging and rewarding musical experience.
