Education

Jazz education has been the cornerstone of the VJC’s existence since its founding by Attila Zoller in 1974. Zoller’s vision was to create an environment for jazz study that was built upon combining theoretical knowledge with opportunities to implement students’ skills in performance. Since 1997, Eugene Uman has expanded on this concept and created a home for jazz education that is fostered by a weekly community jam session, ongoing ensembles, classes, community outreach and a summer jazz workshop.

The VJC provides meaningful and high-quality educational programs to people of all ages in a rural community.
