Award-winning Oklahoma-born singer and pianist, Champian Fulton, seems to be always on tour. She will soon be performing in Germany, Denmark, France, Italy, Spain, California, Chicago…and now – Vermont! Fulton grew up around jazz. Her father ran the Clark Terry Summer Jazz Workshop, so she was surrounded by music and hung out with the legendary players within Clark Terry’s circle of luminaries. As a young girl, she learned repertoire and performed with Louis Hayes, Lou Donaldson, Frank Wess, but it was Clark Terry who mentored her in the art of performance, music business and rehearsal technique. Fulton has released nine records as a leader and played festivals and noteworthy venues throughout the world, including a two-year residency at New York’s Birdland. Fulton is a master of the familiar and obscure repertoire from the Great American Songbook.
